That would be nice, but I don't think it's possible, or wishful thinking on their part. At my location we are down 30+ private fleet drivers from this time last year. We have been pulled away to help out the neighboring hvdc that have underperforming contract dedicated in place, or booted out the previous dedicated to save $$$.

I hope things do turn around, but from the numbers it doesn't look like it's going to happen. We have trouble getting new applicants that meet the requirements, and are hirable. Just when we hire 2-3 new guys, 3-4 current drivers "retire". Taking a quick look at the corporate job board shows 52 locations hiring drivers. :-(

I came back on the reinstatement program l was gone only 6 months. Been moving almost harder than before with no empty moves. The DC sounds like 7047 you mentioned.

They know LOS of these fleets they brought in is in the toilet. And some of them are demanding a rate increase already.

I agree they are having issues getting drivers to apply. Self inflicted when the guy in charge said we did not have to be above the industry. IMO if he goes, and it is done publicly, recruiting would be up. We are at 100 short in Indiana from what I understand. We were down 50 and they wanted to increase 7055 by 50.

Locally I think we are only down like 5 but we have like 16 new guys and 3 that came back.

Exactly, funny how us way too expensive low skill talent knew this, warned of it, but someone who is a supply chain specialist didn't.

It's not like the hatchet man even had a good track record from his previous employers.
