I would put the fuel island and CAT scale on the opposite side of the lot as the store, and you could only get to them by blind side backing.

Almost every truck stop is one good management team away from being the "perfect truck stop".

Pick up/take the trash, and keep the windshield washer buckets full. Clean bathrooms, stocked shelves. Basically how truck stops start, before laziness/bad management steps in and ruins it. Are the truckers the problem? Nope. Apply some reality. Truckers are truckers. Be ready to overcome that hurdle, and continue overcoming it every single day forever.

Have at least 1 lane, with gasoline so us with large gasoline powered RV’s can get in and out relatively hassle free.

One that has a dock lock of sorts, a hook that latches to your steer axle. After 45 seconds of you being parked with no pump activity it engages and drags your sorry ### to the back forty. P.S. screw your tires, your blocking my pumps!!

300 inoperative fuel pumps and 8 back-in parking spots. No reefers allowed. McDonalds, Taco Bell, Papa Johns, Dairy Queen.

I always envisioned some sort of trapdoor system, where it drops the offending truck down into a giant incinerator.
