Let's HOPE to high heaven that this strike does NOT occur.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

Well I was a 77% raise too. Try to pay for Biden's inflation tax. I'm making less NOW than I did my first year of trucking under Trump.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Interesting. Sabre rattling, but 2 weeks till go time.

If it persists for 3-4 weeks, it may strip some ‘excess capacity’ from the industry.

And more ‘supply chain issues’ that most people don’t understand - but will be blamed on political issues.

Wait - is there an election coming up soon?

Port strikes or threats there of been around for years. Things like this happen when dealing with unions.

If they do strike, the government can force them to return to work.

As badly as the Democrats want to get Harris elected there's no way in hell they'll make a striking union go back to work. At least not until after the election.

    1) Striking workers still need to eat, along with paying rents, mortgages, car payments, utilities, & other bills, like everyone else.
    2) Just all this alone would make them go back to work.

The whole point of a union is the ability to back up their words. If they can't strike due to an inability to come to an agreement on compensation then they have basically zero power. Unions are great for keeping wages high and workers happy.

Unions have strike funds that they use to pay workers on strike.

Yes but strike pay is usually very low. I don’t think you’d live on it.
