Sincere, yet obviously in response to the rising tension within USIT. If you listened to it, what's your take?

He is clueless, just as the rest of upper management. I wish we could have a meeting with all the drivers at one time, and see if the FM can be honest:p:p

I would say clueless, otherwise he wouldn't have addressed the troops. I would say, selective blindness :biggrin_2556:

So, what about the drivers going in there together one day and getting some points across. This company isn't terrible, it just needs guidance. There is so much potential for them to be as good as they advertise as. But there is a lack of effort put forth by the ones in the office, because they get paid there check regardless of our successfulnes. I think some of the upper management should ride with the drivers for a few weeks, and see what life is like on the road. See how you call in and the phone rings for 20mins before anyone answers. Or how night shift pretends as if the computer and phone haven't even been invented yet. See how we sit, when they can then go back and check and see there was another load available, just the effort wasn't put forth to get the driver off of the load and have him sit for 3 days.

Speaking of sitting, for the ones of you who sit, do y'all get paid for it. You are supposed to get $120/day, but most FM hide it from you. Some also say if you have more than 2200mi. you don't get it either. I think that is BS, and also is against the law. If you are in that truck you are working. If they don't pay you, they are stealing your wages. It is not our fault as drivers that they can't keep us moving, and shouldn't be punished for it.

I get $120/day, but no one ever told me, and my FM won't do it if I don't ask. Actually even when I ask, sometimes he forgets still...Like twice in 2 weeks. I had a driver let me know about it. Kinda sad that they hide and try and keep us from the money we are owed.

I didn't know about it until my fleet manager told me about it a little while ago. I had a short run for the weekend and I asked him on Friday (Before I even picked it up) if he can get this load relayed so I don't have to sit the weekend (didn't need a 34hr). He tried to get the LC to have me drop at a yard and pickup somewhere else on a saturday but they didn't have it so he said for me to remind him on Monday morning and he'll get me paid.

I called on Monday morning and he forgot all about it until he looked at the messages and was oh yeah lol...

BTW, on average, how many drivers does an FM work with? Everytime I'm on the phone with one I forget to ask because I have other more important questions to ask haha.

The last time I asked my guy he said he had 38. I'm in 30. I email my guy and talk on the phone to him often. He has said he deals with lots of problem drivers in our fleet, he has some he has to call and wake up to make sure they get where they need to go. Sorta like a babysitter I guess. So when some drivers complain about treatment, makes you wonder what their real story is. Things are not always perfect but my fm has never did me dirty, not yet at least.:biggrin_25513:

I think you will find that most have from 35-50 drivers.
