I recently pulled two largeish 20k lbs fork lifts and I was on the fence about using the lift points, but figured my hook throats weren't big enough, and I only really noticed after it was tied down. I used the side shuttling cage on both sides but was not super happy with pulling against the bolts holding the bottom rail together. Next time I'll likely use the binders hooked right to the lift points. It rode fine, but it's good to always keep thinking about a better way.

The razor thin ground clearance on those represents another headache.

It looks like you have a strap on each side around the ROPS down low in the back and up high at the front. That would satisfy the 4 point securement requirements. Chains are not required on equipment.

Securement up high like that does a better job anchoring loads anyway. Using cross chains down low, ie a container, is a very poor securement method because it provides very little down pressure.

Wasn’t sure if I did it right or not so I erred on the side of my newbieness to open deck and posted it in the screwed up forum. I felt they were secure but it looked pretty sketchy to me. Glad I’m getting positive comments.

This looked fairly secure going down the road, but I'm pretty sure the legality is an issue. If you can't see it, the chain comes off the rub rail, down the center of the duals of both axles and back down to the rub rail. The front was fine, the chain 20201229_121854.jpg off the frame on each side, with its own binder

Not too far off what they do with excavators. I'd only be worried if the wheels were aluminum because the chains would scratch them to hell. There's certainly better ways to do it though.

With the dump truck's mirrors being over the rub rail would this not have to be run as O/D?

    Hammer166 Thanks this.

That's why you loosen the bolts and fold the mirrors in.

Perfectly legal, best way to do spring ride trucks and stacked trailers, especially if they have steel wheels. Just watch the valve stems.
