The men in the video are overweight and not well educated.
Only saw one young good looking woman.
The young ones that look good leave after high school and go to the cities where the chances of meeting suitable men are much better. Lot of foreign men in the cities also are interested in the beautiful ones.
The culture is if a woman is 28 yrs. old or older, then she's not suitable for marriage. She's considered too old. Foreign men love those "too old" women.
In Shenzhen there's 9 unmarried women to every 1 unmarried man.
If you want a husband or wife, go to the big cities; easy pickings there.austinmike and lual Thank this. -
So it's just like here with 80% of women chasing the top 5% of men.

This guy is American. He's in Shenzhen making this video. The city that has 10 unmarried women for every unmarried man.
He married one and now has 2 children and stayed in China because of low cost of living and safe from crime 24/7.
His budget for the day, including meals & subway, was $15 USD. At the end of the day, he had spent just over $12 USD.
I Spent 1 Day in China's Most Advanced City With Just $15?!Last edited: Jun 12, 2026

That was a great video thanks. He ain't exaggerating I remember it much the same near Shenyang in northeastern China. He was right you could just walk into any hole in the wall random restaurant and get great food. My first meal there was like that and yes the food courts in the shopping malls were great food too. We're looking to go back in a couple of years, Hainan Island is the plan.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Some of my friends in Beijing & Shanghai moved to Hainan within the last year or so. They love it there.

This was that first meal I ate there. I have a couple of thousand pics from that trip - I knew it was there. It was just some small restaurant we saw and we're hungry so there we ate. I don't know exactly what it was some noodles, broth and don't remember what it cost but I know it was cheap and very good.

Looking at all those pictures of Chinese food sure brings back many pleasant memories of China.
The food is delicious, healthy and the people are laid back, slow pace of life, friendly and helpful to those of us they've never met before. They treat us, expats and visitors, as if we're long time friends they haven't seen in awhile.mjd4277 and rollin coal Thank this.
