I wonder if mum regrets the one child policy, and if ultimately she chose to raise a boy over a girl?. Interesting (but expected) no one chucks stones at the failed government policy and its side effects. Of which it seems generations of women prefer money and status over companionship. Still that meet and greet for the desperate and dateless has to be the most uninspiring match making faculty on earth. Not sure about all the double dipping with the chop sticks, but a meet and greet around food would be a better start.

I was surprised to see large families over there with several brothers and sisters. I mean I know the one child policy was a thing back in the Mao days, not so anymore, but I met a lot of people my age (50) and older with several siblings. Makes you wonder just how hard that policy was enforced or if it was just BS altogether.

Now it's a 3 child policy, but more than 3 is better and no repercussions.
