It could lead to them paying, or the contracts being shown to be unlawful. Who really knows. Fox News apparently does.

Don't tell me you've never heard of contracts that let the employer recoup 100% of training costs even if the employee was 1 day from the end of the contract. You know employers screw employees as hard as they can so they make the most money.

This happened to me with Roehl Transport and their GYCDL program. I always acted in good faith and expected them to do the same. When I started with them they gave me a lot of miles and kept me busy but as time went on they cut my miles more and more to where I realized that they would control when I was able to get out of my contract by controlling the amount of mileage I got to drive. I went from 3,000 plus miles with regularity to some weeks having around A thousand Miles and even less. I've seen some people get out of that contract and say 10 months and others get dragged out to over 2 years. Some people just get fired without an explanation and Roehl immediately sends their collection company after the driver, that is what happened to me after I got to 80,000 miles and they would not allow me to do more than maybe 1200 miles in a week.

Yeah ruin your credit for 7 years suffering those consequences while they go on business as usual totally unaffected and not caring that you did that.

Don't sign contracts without (reading!) understanding them. In all likelihood this was explained up front and people still lined up to sign on.

i thought that was 10 years..??

my former co-worker and his wife had to file bankruptcy, about if i recall what he said, 2-3 months later, he was getting all new credit card offers.

i dunno....seems that he made out ok, they got to keep thier house and 2 years(??) into that time frame, wife got a new car......albeit higher loan rate, then they re-fi'd and got a lower rate.

i'll be seeing them again next month for a T-Day fest.......if i can i'll ask him again.

A friend of mine and his wife filed bankruptcy. He told me that about 3 months later he looked into buying a new car. While his interest rate would have been high, he would have no problem getting a loan, as they knew he couldn't file for bankruptcy again for another 7 years. Also started getting a bunch of credit card offers in the mail. As far as his credit score getting hit, most people that are in the position of filing bankruptcy already have a credit score that is on the way down.
My friend told me that the worst thing was the way many people looked down on them afterwards as if it is something to be ashamed of.

Yeah, credit card companies take advantage of that by giving out credit cards with a higher interest rate. Same with buying a car.

Not only matters for the idiots that carry a balance in their credit card.
