Picnic tables. I've seen a few truckstops with them but not many. Sometimes when I shut down or am waiting on a load, it's really nice just to get out of the truck for awhile...not to do anything special, read a book, have a smoke, etc.
Things I'd like or like to see, offered at truckstops

I would like to see Applebee's, Chili's or some other "neighborhood" restaurant in place of Flying J, Petro and TA's restaurants. Probably never happen but nice to wish for..LOL.
Small grocery w/decent prices for healthy snacks, deli style lunchmeats, and food that can be cooked in the 12v ovens.
**Better lighting and pavement in the parking lots!!Ms No Name 72 Thanks this. -
I think the Bay area in CA. needs more than 1 lousy truck stop; and it doesn't have much and I don't think you can actually park there overnight? This is really bad especially if you go into the Bay area and load up outbound because you have to hold your breath every time because you are at the state of California's mercy in fear that you could be overweight; this is the biggest scam that state has (as well as not may truck stops in the L.A. area either). I call this a big load of B.S. and I think every driver on here or not on here who has gone into the Bay area hates it; due to traffic and lack of truck stops; when going to the Bay area you have to park on the streets and hope you don't get robbed or told to move by the darn police; what a joke this area is for any truck driver.
