Well i recently have had to look to start a new career and the cr england training facility is a few miles down the road from me and seems like a good fit. I know they offer financing for schooling and was wondering if anyone knows about there school and the company. I would prefer to go to a trucking company that pays for the schooling in exchange for x amount contract time with the company as i hear those are out there but i could not find any in southern California where i live, Fontana to be exact. So please if you know about these guys or any schools that will pay for your training to get your CDl please let me know.

I'm new. But I would be cautious about cr England. I'm in arkansas. I'm going to go to ASU Newport I would definitely be sure about what you want. The things I have seen on the net were not good things. I don't gamble so as far as school goes I would go with pdti schools Then again they may be that and still have a bad rep. I'm doing my homework before I get to deep. I hope you find what you are looking for. I just felt like I should answer because I read a bad review.

Donnie, like Natenew stated there are alot of negative reviews on CR England. But keep in mind that more people post negative then good so I'll let you be the judge rather then say steer clear. What company's have you looked at?

Thanks for both replies, I have looked at Swift and CR England so far i am looking as well for a company to pay for the driving school in exchange for driving for them for x amount of time i am a very loyal employee so do not mind spending the first year or two working for the same company as long as the pay is enough to keep my family clothed not hungry and with a roof over their head. I really need to get started within the next couple of weeks as money is getting tight and i feel like a failure not being able to provide for my family.

Donnie, just keep your head up and go into this with a open mind. As for feeling like a failure, sometimes life is a b*itch and the only way to get through it is to keep chuggin along the narrow road. Sooner or later things will look up for ya.

I have also been doing some research on company sponsored training for the past couple of months and have found several companies offering it. CR England, Swift, USA Truck and P.A.M. (they both use Driver Solutions for their recruiting), CRST (team only), Prime, Stevens, and Central Refrigerated. Most of these companies have training in either California or the Midwest (Texas, Utah, or Missouri) and will pay for your transportation there. I would suggest you take a look at Prime if you don't mind being gone for 3-4 weeks at a time with 3-4 days of hometime. Prime seems to have some good training (4 days in orientation in Missouri and then you hit the road with a CDL instructor one-on-one for 3 weeks). Check out their website. They also seem to be the company that can begin putting at least some money in your pockets more quickly because if you are like me, it would be hard to wait 4, 5, or 6 weeks for that first paycheck as some companies are saying would be the case. But it all depends on what you are looking for and what sacrifices you are willing to make. I too have to make a decision soon and just want that decision to be a good one since I will have to spend at least the next year with one of these companies.

Do what you got to do. But I would attempt to pay for it even if it means getting a small loan from the bank or a cash advance place. You must remember that some companies will charge you 5k even tho the school in all fees is on average 2k. I'm where u are brother. I'm afraid times are only going to get worse. Do what is in your heart but let your mind guide you.

    Donnie,

There are many employer opportunities in California, but not all good (CR England). I have an option you may enjoy but I am unsure if I am allowed to post links???
