Any o/o leased on to Anderson on the flabed side? I would appreciate any information. Also, if your doing lease purchase let me know how that is for you. Biggest question is 65% of load good pay? They pay plates and permits and cargo liability. Also, I get fuel surcharge and tarp pay. Thanks for your help.

Maybe you would care to expand on this comment?

I am a L/O and am doing well. I am on my second lease with ATS and am buying my truck. I will have it paid off in a couple of months, seven months early!

I am on mileage, so I can't comment on percentage. Our pay was cut last August or September. Despite freight picking up, the pay at ATS has not. At least not on mileage. I do not see the percentage rates, maybe they have. Once the pay goes back to the precut rate, if it does, I am thinking about switching to percentage.

Right now the wind jobs are all seeing issues.

Either weather or poor planning on the const. companies side of things.

So many other carriers are trying to get in the wind game and driving the rates down from the way they were a few years ago.

Had one other carrier under bid us real bad on a job.

Then the customer finds out their trks. can not legally haul them:biggrin_25510:
It has hit the fan with that carrier seeing how they layed a unit on it's side with the trl. in a parking lot in Tn..

Too many wantta be heavy haulers in the bussiness right now.

I'm sorry, but I have to take issue with this post. Too many wanna-be's??? Really??? Kinda like that clown "Grumpy" Larry, that pulls y'all's BIGGEST trailer, that first 19-axle. I say first, because I heard rumors that y'all was gettin' another 1 or 2, if y'all hadn't taken delivery on them already. Year in and year out ATS/Anderson is always at the top of GE's s___t list for tearing up towers or nacelles. Speaking from a logistics point of view, there are those that "specialize" (funny) in what they call heavy haul, pulling wind tower components and they call that "Heavy Haul". Stretched out to 180ft long, 15'10" tall, and a gross of around 220,000lbs, I guess you could call that Heavy Haul. WE DON'T!!!! We do a lot of work for Sureway Logistics, moving the Heavy Haul stuff Y'all can't. Scott, knows me very well. I guess 'cause y'all move cranes and counter-weight buggies for Mammoet, means y'all are Heavy Haulers....... Get off the gas, please!!!!!! I take issue with your post, not you, you're doing what you can, I get it, but someone cut y'all's rate on a wind farm job, I can't believe that. Not saying it can't happen, but ATS isn't famous for their tremendously high rates...... I'm just sayin'. Check my album, for some of the stuff I do.... I have plenty more pictures I will post at a later date..... Have fun, enjoy..... Keep up your good work!!!! ATS needs more like you!!! I assume you're safe, to have been there so long, good job..... Late.

Well first off I never said that ATS has or had the best rates...

Yes we have got under cut on jobs. Ask Badger from Wi. Fact
They are the ones who laid over the nacelle in Tn. Fact
Their setup they can not legaly haul the Suzlon nacelles.. Fact

Sure you haul for Sureway. Fine.
Sureway gets alot of the loads then brokers them back to ATS. Thus another cut in the funds for us contractors.

    Me stating wanna be truckers.
Here is what I'm talking about. Guy buys a 2 or 3 axle trl with pin ons at the rear.
They take and add more axles, but never think about the deck rating.
Well I got all these axles and I can haul the weight.
Well the trl. goes negitive or frame breaks. Gee how did that happen??
They but a general freight trk. and then add a extra axle. Now I'm a 4axle heavy hauler.
What about the rear ends, the frame rating etc..
This is what I mean about wanna be's.

Me I do not haul much towers..

I do it every now and then when there is no work for my setup.

Hope this clears up my last post.

Good luck with you and Scott. Never met the man that I know of.

Suzlon Nacelles, let me see, 169,000lbs.? No, heavier or lighter? Which one, Mr. Anderson? I believe it was y'all that had everyone else scared to pull Suzlon Nacelles out of Freeport, Tx. Why, here's the real truth!!! One of y'all BIG TIME Heavy Haulers, :biggrin_2559:, come out of the port of Freeport and took a right!!!! Idiot!!! Off route, got escorted to a place by the D. O. T., so he could be weighed!!!! You know what happened next!! Now the rumor is They're D.O.T.'ing in Freeport!!! You can't scale Suzlon Nacelles on 13's, they are after all of the Nacelle haulers down in Freeport..... Lies.. The only reason he was even noticed, was because HE WAS OFF ROUTE!!!!!! Now I'm asking, why is it you say Badger can't legally haul a Suzlon Nacelle?? What does that have to do with wanna-be heavy haulers?? By your description, they don't have that type of equipment, and most of the guys I know that work there are Owner-Operators. Now don't get me wrong, I have NOTHING against YOU, I don't even know you. Truth be told I'd like to be in your position, and own my own truck and big trailer, only my version of My Big trailer requires at least two trucks!!! I don't have anything against ATS, actually thought about tryin' 'em out, but I was actually told by recruiter Jeff Tholen, that they couldn't afford me!!!!! I laughed, and I honestly believe that to be true, but with the economy on the up, I think, I may call him back. I just don't wanna have to do wind!!! I hope you hadn't gotten upset over something I've said, I never meant it to be mean or spiteful..... Peace.

:biggrin_25523:I am not familiar with that company specifically but be aware of leases in general. Typically lease means You will be given a striped down truck at the price of normally equipped truck. Leasing company gets the trucks in huge quantity and gets them at fraction of the cost that you will pay leasing company. Since you will not make any extra money you will have no means of paying a balloon payment at the end of the lease meaning you paid, paid and paid but you get nothing for it. You have in fact financed truck for the owner of your trucking company so that he can put more of your money in his pocket. Only time you are owner operator is if you pouches your truck on your own and operate under your own authority otherwise you are slave operator portending to be an owner operator.
