So last week was my first week at Schneider, this was is my first trucking jobs btw. I'm on a dedicated home daily account working nights. The night shift is killing me I'm always tired pulling 12-13 hour shifts. I wish it was day shift so bad but between being tired all the time, no social life, mood swings etc I'm already thinking about quitting...

I'm also unsure about going with some companies like pepsico because I hear the experience you get there won't hold any value to some companies. My main goal is to be a p/d driver for either Fedex freight or OD later...
Maybe I should get my endorsements and try going to Saia or OD?

I'm not really sure what to do right now I'm bummed out about feeling like this after just one week...

Gotta pay your dues. Some get lucky from the start, most gotta get that time.

With your one week experience, I think you may have a hard time finding another driving job. But, maybe not.

My advice would be stick it out for at least a few months. Potential future employers will look at length of time on job, and 6 months is about a zillion times better than a week.

Load of bs. YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY YOUR DUES.
Another big myth out hear that a new driver has eat a hefty trash bag full of cow dung.
Be treated with total disrespect by trainer s dispatchers ect.ect.

You just need to speak up for yourself and let them know nights aren't good for you And it's not a safe stitsuation for you and the motoring public.

Check with the LTL companies in your area , many of these companies have started NEW DRIVER TRAINING programs.
For p&d and linehaul. But if nights are that bad for you is forget about a linehaul gig. Not that there isn't any day shift runs at ltl companies but in general it takes a long while to get one.
