Yeah, kinda.

First off, we have naturalists finding new species and 'rediscovering' species thought to be extinct all the time. We also have a number of well documented species that are very rarely spotted. A yeti/bigfoot isn't inconceivable.

That said, most of the 'Bigfoot' foot prints were probably made by smaller animals and distorted by weather and time. Next time you have big snow fall take a step into it, then measure/document that foot print every 4 hours for the next 48 hours. What starts as a normal foot print will morph into something only a gargantuan could make.

Now consider the mythical beasts of the Celts. Most of them can be tracked back to real animals. Try to explain a rhinoceros to someone where the largest 4 legged animal in their language is a horse - you get a big horse with a horn.

This is a depiction of a shark based solely on written accounts - not very accurate. Take a couple iterations and add in a healthy dash of folklore and you get Bigfoot.

Are all the accounts of Bigfoot real? Nah, but he could exist.
