chicago to KY or TN 2 turns a week dedicated long standing relationship customer, we have our own labeled docks we show up drop our empty in the dock, check in get our paperwork and head out with the preload.
home time is a 34 or 48. truck is governed at 68mph but there are no cameras VERY small fleet and no micromanagement, very much a get in the truck and go type of company, even smaller than the one im currently on.
trucks are moderately well equipped, lockers, suspension dump, weight/pressure gauges, air slide 5th, kingpin air release, johnny bar, apu/epu, satelite radio, microwave and fridge, freedom to fuel when needed, they ask you fuel in their network but understand that cant always happen.
.68cpm because my experience and all endorsements, fuel bonus, safety bonus, per diem, detention, we can park anywhere legal on home time.
imo .68 is a little low yet but the market has been a bit stagnant so you gotta give and take as a company boy.
most of my career so far ive run west to east, ive gone north south but not as often.
those of you who run north south along the chicago KY/TN lane how is it?
a side note, this allows me to get more port action as im thinking about transitioning into either the rail road or port crane container work, Railroad is easier since i have connections to people already employed.
Thoughts on a dedicated alcohol liquor run.

Do you also go east to west or south to north? How about on the diagonal?
Your post makes about as much sense as my response. -
i dont think its that hard to understand? west east, east west, horizontally across the us. north south, south north vertically across the us.
dedicated runs are usually referred to as turns. out and back = 1 turn. -
I would say $0.68 is good money in my opinion. alcohol is usually very good paying freight so they can afford to you that much. Sounds like good run if 34-48 is enough home time for you. I get 2 fulls home every week and still want more, but the truck has to keep moving. I’m not fan of driving all night so hopefully you not doing that. Sounds like regular schedule every week. Running same lanes every week can get boring but it’s home everyday week and some money
86scotty and viper822004 Thank this. -
It sounds pretty good to me. There are lots of drivers that cannot ever be happy because no matter what they have or find they will focus on the missing something and elevate that missing something to a deal-breaker even though they didn't ask about it beforehand.
You should lay out exactly what you need to have and then lay out what this job provides. If this job provides most of those things you need and it is better than a current job or an alternative job why not take it?Last edited: Oct 10, 2025

CPM is there, however miles aren’t. Chicago to KY and back is a day of work, TN you’re back next day early morning. If you’re from Chicago you might want to look into containers or airport runs, containers you won’t have an issue getting $1400 for 5 days. Airport $900-1200, airport isn’t much driving, you’re going warehouse to warehouse waiting on the bench most of the time. You’ll be home every night at least.
