Read where Texas Law maker has requested 3 hours of off duty be placed into the 14 hour on duty status but will not add into the 14 hours of work time. Also does away with the 30 minute break. This is well needed and should have been in place at the first start. Now maybe get some rest if needed and also set down to enjoy a good meal if you like. I do wish it would have been 4 hours instead of 3 but 3 beats nothing.

You should sit down and eat your meal on your 10 hour break.
It’s silly to extend your 14 hour day to 17 hours just to eat and then park and take a 10 hour break a few hours after you sat down and ate your meal.
Did paper loggers never hear of trip planning?

Don’t need to trip plan on paper logs. My logs always legal when I fill them out at the end of the week

I really don't see how this helps the driver. Sure there would be times it would be nice to sit out rush hour, but having to take a full ten afterwards negates the gain. Plus where the heck will the driver find parking? Guy is right back where he started in terms of racing the clock.

I do see how this helps dispatch and will allow customers to delay us. They know that the driver will have 3 hours to move - and they will expect the driver to move.

If they want to do this just roll back the hos to pre 2004 rules.

I know you’re kidding, but if you got in an accident with me and I was hurt there would’ve a slew of legal aides dissecting your log book and watching videos of where you loaded and unloaded to make sure your logs matched.

Even the eloggers logging sleeper berth to sneak in a 10 hour break when they’re on video standing in line to check in to get unloaded.
Any jury would award me millions for my pain and suffering.

I don't know how to plan around the disasters the planners and then shipping, throw at me.

Neither do Dispatch and the planners, or trucks breaking down, or snowplow drivers blocking both lanes so no one can pass them. Snow is another 4 letter word.
