Tips for installing shifter

I'm trying to put the shifter onto my 10-speed transmission but I seem to be having some problems.

Is there any trick for getting that shifter to fall in? The gasket really doesn't give you a lot of room for error...

Hi tack the gasket to the shifter, then stick it. Guide studs in the mount holes will help too.

X2 on guide studs. Lower down slow keeping shifter at its normal angle.

Make sure the tranny is in nuetral too.
