we are runnin with chain right now though cali., they don't seem to be tight enough. last time i had this one broke but that was also because they called for chains on nothing but pavement, how do i tighten them. and please don't tell me cams or bungies, i'm not dumb, even though this may be a dumb question.

    cams and bingies:biggrin_25517:

I'm serious though, it's all you got. get a bar to tighten more cams if you can.

Chains break just the way it is. especially laes like Donner pass where they love for you to run them on dry pavement

Last year we bought a full set of the Z chains. man them babies were great. you just drape them over and hook the ends together. then there are hooks that hang down the tire sidewalls and you take these two huge rubber bands and they go around those hooks tightning the chains. I put on a whole set in the time it takes to chain up one or two tires.
