They may crack down on incorrect logging practices and that's fine. But is this a case of rookies logging the illegal day they make them run as they do it, as opposed to logging it in a fashion so as to make it look legal?

Yeah it's fine to say that you should log it as you do it, and that is what I do today. But at TMC, that practice would get you placed under evaluation for what they called "time management". And you might as well forget about pay increases.

Of course. Gotta get those 5 loads a week, even they're all a thousand miles apart.

I just talked to friend of mine that has been in his truck for 3 months for TMC and he does 5 loads a week and does it legal(98% of the time). He says its all about how you manage your time. He loves TMC he makes great money and is home EVERY WEEKEND. He came to my school thursday and stayed for 1pm til his wife came and got him at 6pm and didnt have to leave out til 2:30am to get to his next stop. He got a brand new truck. He also says most people that cant handle flatbeding, got fired, or quit are always going to have something bad to say about the company they worked for no matter what company it is. I am going to work for TMC. And know I am going to like it. I love flatbeding and I love peterbilts.

most all trucking companies have a safety dep. that has rules and regulation but honestly u cant believe you follow these rules to the letter by no means.because if u really feel this way, u have never driven a truck, your probably a x state cop or law officer with no idea. if you want to convince me of a true safety program, you'll have to show me your cdl with years of experience.

Man o Man. This research is getting tougher the longer I go. Looking for a good company to start with. Pulling aps before I submit them, jbhunt. Finding new companies to apply to with good recommendations. Submitting aps. Just to reject some of the offers of pre-hire after I get them. Haven't heard from TMC yet, just applied yesterday but reading some of this stuff makes me wonder if I should forget about them and then reading something like the above makes me think maybe I could work it.
Just have to chug along a little longer in the research and see what other opportunities come along.

I am currently at TMC orientation in Des Moines, IA. I have not yet seen anything taught to us that was of questionable legality or ethics. What you choose to do and try to get away with is up to you. I will say that TMC safety and log department takes logs and safety violations seroiusly. I think they are one of the better companies. If you want to run illegally please find another company, we don't want you here.

Most of the problems being reported in this thread showed up after the drivers started running, not when they were in the training school. Please be sure to give us a 6 month update.
