    Yes, same people, same building.

They are making money, and expanding slowly.

From what I gathered via website, the Gorman's started TMT (Tango Motor Transit) back in 2001 http://www.tangomotortransit.com/history.html

My mother's friend heard the same thing about the Gorman's kept the old ligon people in office but neither one them hasn't had the luxury to go to the Madisonville office to investigate when they were at Tango.

It use to be Tango Transport was a good outfit for owner operators to lease on to but unfortunately when they grew the company fleet trucks, it started to get wishy washy. I a friend of mine who's leased on to Rich Logistics in Arkansas said that what he didn't like was hauling that heavy scrap paper and the FSC wasn't justifying it.

Ok, here is the story I got .

In 1992 Landstar moved their corporate offices to Flordia . The Founders of both TANGO and TMT were all EX - VP's or high ups in the landstar food chain . They did not make the move to FL with LS and formed their own companies Tango and TMT . That's how they are SISTER companies and of course TANGO is the mother ship and larger company but 2 completely sep outfits .

the guys at TMT a few of them were also old Ligon guys who sold out to LS ( hence Lanstar / Ligon )
they were able to purchase the old Ligon building in Madisonville which serves as the TMT - HQTR's .

The formation at TMT is similar to LS because the founders of TMT helped to start the current LS system or the concept . They work with lots of LS agents still cause the founders of TMT actually out some of the tenured LS agents in business and they have a good relationship.

Hope this info I found helps ..

But TANGO is not TMT . Never was ...

Tgey are co mingled as sister companies . But TMT is 100% O/O

they do not have company fleet trucks at TMT no company owned trucks . That is TANGO the sister company and not TMT . Just wanted to clarify that while Tango and TMT are related business wise they are 2 delegate companies ran by different people entirely .

Tmt is 100% O/O that much I do know ..

But do want to know more and trying to fund out more

You are correct to an extense

Chris D. Gorman is the President of Tango Motor Transit (TMT) which is also the Executive Vice President of Tango Transport while Robert Gorman hold Chairman and CEO and BJ Gorman President both of Tango Transport (they are listed in their quarterly newsletters)

    http://www.tangotransport.com/clientuploads/2ndQuarter2013_Newsletter.pdf
    http://www.tangomotortransit.com/newsletter/TMT2ndQuarterNewsletter2013.pdf

If I mention that TMT had company drivers, my apology but you right, they don't and never did BUT both TMT and Tango Transport shares the yard in Shreveport, LA; Sibley, LA and Madisionville, KY (I have actually seen TMT O/O's at the Louisiana yards the few times I was their visiting my mother). According to an office staff at TANGO TRANSPORT the few flatbed trucks that they have, do share TMT's freight base by 5 to 10% and the only reason being is because they have small flatbed contract that they are working through until it's up and going forth, they will be 100% van fleet (TANGO TRANSPORT). Do keep in mind, as you mentioned, they are two separate companies but owned by the same management team (look at the quarterly newsletter links I've posted). Mother just mentioned that TMT has offered her a position with them several times provided that she goes through flatbed training and willing to purchase a truck (they'd offered to lease purchase one of the Tango Transport trucks) just so she wouldn't leave but quit anyway reason being she's too old to be flat bedding and not wanting to own a truck.

Somewhere we both mis-understood each other (and I hope that's the case) but I am like you, I am wanting to know more about these guys at TMT and WE want to get some info from a current TMT owner operator. I am going to attempt to call the recruiter here in 10 minutes and I will let you guys know what was said.....especially you US MARINE :biggrin_25525:
