What up! How’s everyone making it? I’m parked up for the night ready to load clay in the morning. Then probably another salt round if I had to guess. Last night I got to the salt mine at 1600 and got loaded at 2200. The time before was 1630 to 0215. So things are just spectacular there. @Arctic_fox do you ever use that spray in the shop on your trailer so loads don’t freeze? I did last week and was skeptical. I did a round of rock and a round of salt, and then loaded clay in 11 degrees and took it on a 5 hour ride that never got above 25 degrees and it come right out. I was impressed.

That cold air is headed to my running area next week, decent chance of snow in Alabama early to mid week, think I’ll stay south :)

Nope i didnt even know they had a spray tbh. I got my own mixes that work pretty good though. Rv anti-freeze is a standard one. If im really concerned ill desolve about a half pound to a pound of calcium chloride in RV antifreeze. It will leave a nice film on everything that works good at prevention. Plan calcium chloride works ok for dryish loads like scrap that may be just a bit damp or large 3"+ rocks.

Also got some propylene glycol concentrate i can mix with water as an emergency decier for the bed. I dont like using it though since its $250 per 5 gallon bucket. Will deice a trailer in a bloody hurry though at a 30% dilute. And 50% works down to -insane temps. Lowest ive used it in is -55. But again $250 for 2 or 3 treatments lol.

Haha! I’m not convinced that wouldn’t be any longer. Just an insane amount of trucks, fresh off a big snowstorm, and one loader. The line will literally be a mile long. One of my buddies delivered to a city shed in Kansas City MO today and just that location said they ordered 1500 tons of salt.

Yup im in that line now. When i got here 1400 the line streched out all the way past the prison and very nearly to the bloody stop sign where you turn in. Its now almost 8 hours later and i still got a good 2-4 ish hours to go.

That place is the worst. Lyons is SO much faster. Hell I used to think Kanapolis was bad, but I’d take that any day. The worst part about Hutch (besides everything) is you’re moving up all the time, you can’t just lay down and set an alarm. If you’re 2-4 hours you must be where the train tracks cross. That usually a pretty good marker of 3 hours from there I’ve found.
