Good luck to you. You interviewing with trucking companies or looking to get out of the truck?
To stay in trucking or not and if so what direction do I go?

If Superior wants to offer me a Pete to stay I might consider staying. I am done with that Mack though. -
Are you even sure a SPCR Pete will ride any better? They aren't going to pull one out from under another driver for you. It will be "Next one we get is yours" and could be months. Why not just pull it through a Mack dealership out on the road? Its a new truck and still under warranty and is not something your shop can fix.
Next time I am at the terminal I will take a few pictures of the 5th wheel set ups on the Macks on our yard if you are still working at SPCR when that happens. It sounds like your TM wants to fix the problem but it won't happen overnight.Last edited: Apr 26, 2015
rubberducky68 Thanks this. -
Rob, I am not sure if a Pete will ride any better. I am making an assumption that it will since it is a higher end truck. Mack was making dump trucks when I was a kid. No road tractors that I am aware of. These new Macks ride like a dump truck. So the Pete can't ride any worse for sure.
No, they won't yank the Pete out from a driver just to give to me and I don't expect that. As far as the terminal manager acting like he wants to fix it, I don't think so. I have mentioned it several times before and he just tries to blow it off hoping I will go away. He has been too busy decorating the new terminal we are moving to.
Trucking is just a job. Not a career. Anyone can do it. Just look at all the idiots out here holding a steering wheel. Nothing special about it. We just happen to make a little more money than people at other companies. Not much room for advancement here at Superior without having to possibly move to another state which I am not going to do.
I got offered one of the jobs I interviewed at. Probably going to take it. I guess worse case scenario if it does not work out I could always come back to Superior. I am not leaving on bad terms, at least I don't think so. I have busted my hump for them and not had any accidents or tickets. So I think they would take me back if I needed to come back. -
Just give them the 2 week notice and you shouldn't burn any bridges. Good luck in your future endeavors.
