GROSS revenue before the carrier gets their take, before fuel, before taxes, tec, etc, etc.
2,500 miles per week multiplied by 50 weeks is 125,000 miles. If you haul freight for $1.80 a mile PLUS fuel that's how you get to $300,000 a year!
The guys that haul for .84 cpm should ignore this as it's way beyond them!

On a side note, being my wife is Filipino making the decision for me to change careers to trucking and being home a lot less was easy. It's what her culture does already, so it was not a issue at all. In her country the husband or wife would go off to manila to work and could be gone a whole year before returning home. Now if I was married to a woman who grew up in the USA, I probably wouldn't have this same understanding as my wife so I am lucky I guess. Trucking is in my blood and what I want to do and I have a wife that truely supports it! Got a little off topic there lolHwyPrsnr Thanks this. -
the only point i have to say is more of wishful thinkin then a point if the big companys are in such i high demand for drivers then they should take a look at them selfs what are they doin to drivers to make them leave and look for something better. maybe instead of sayin that they'll pay u for things like extra stops, layovers, breakdown pay etc if they actualy did things like this they might keep some drivers. better training instead of lettin drivers that have only been drivin otr for a yr become a trainier make it a 5 yr min it should be more but with less and less veterens of trade bein around still itll just become harder to have trainers. that and understandably that most the oldtimers dont want to train this new generation with its poor work ethics. " if ur not afraid to work and get dirty this is not directed towards you" if they did this they might cut down on some of the cost in ins, fuel ect. just my .01 to add

Werner is offering a $5,000 signing bonus for its "team driver" positions
Really ?
I wonder if there are any ( unattainable ) terms & conditions
with that...

Just a guess, tho. -
another thing that is keeping people from driving and smaller companies hiring them is insurance companies. Most require 2yrs experience and that makes it hard for a smaller company to hire drivers. Smaller companies like the one I work for may offer things that the bigger companies don't. A big company may not fit the needs of certain drivers like a small company would, but we can't hire them because of the insurance companies requirements which I think is BS.

Maybe be an hourly wage of $30 an hour and over time after 8 hours and all the trucking jobs will be filled. oh and a bonus every 3 months
PaydayThurs Thanks this. -
I have seen 6-8K bonus for teams,
and 2-3K bonus for solos being advertised,
by various companies.
Usually the higher the amount,
the crappier the company !!
