So I am a company driver. I've had the truck at the dealership for 2 months getting repairs. Air leaks, transmission won't shift, hood cables, ect. The company is not following up on the dealer. I've been at home 80 miles away from the truck. I am receiving breakdown pay @ 75 bucks a day. I'm tired of waiting, there are better jobs available that not otr. I think im kinda trapped in that I can't quit without turning the equipment back in. Who knows when it's going to be ready. If I give my two weeks notice and the equipment is still not ready I'm sure they'll hit me with abandonment on my DAC. Even after the shop still need to take the trailer in for dot inspection and A service at a close TA or petro for more time waiting lol. Is there anyway out of this company without destroying my DAC?

It would be best to talk with someone at your company about this. See if there is a loaner truck available. In situations like this, the squeeky wheel gets the grease. You must follow up a couple times a week if not everyday. Call and see whats going on .

Why did you hire on with a company like that?
Is it one of those small mom & pop outfits or 1099 outfits?
You've been broken down for 2 months and no replacement truck?

Contact Freymiller and explain what's going on and can you be hired under the circumstances.

I don't know why you're worried about dac.
There are millions of companies that could care less about dac and don't even use it.

Since the truck is at a shop and has been so for awhile I seriously doubt they will call that abandonment

How far way are they from the shop?
Maybe if needed to keep peace offer to run it back to them but even that would seem like an unnecessary option

I would have moved on as well

First. Ignore DAC. Way more companies don't use it than use it. And usually it's the better companies you would want to work for anyway.. If you don't want to ignore DAC and they do put abandonment simply make a reply you quit after truck was in the shop for 2 months.
Second. Go get a job that treats you like an adult and wants to make money like you do. Stop letting the company abuse you.

P.S. $75 a day is an insult, I would be leaving just for that. Well that and if they have an attitude that that's ok, their whole attitude has to blow chunks.
