How much is too much, I guess that depends on the officers discretion. This looks like 8’+ past the rear bumper. Is this normal? Just curious. IMG_8058.jpeg

6’ from the light box is legal. I agree that it looks like 8’. I would be more concerned with damaging my equipment than too much overhang. His bottom rear deck is out so far that it will drag on every dip he hits.

This guy is clearly an amateur or severely undertrained. If he is hauling new vehicles I hope he gets cut off soon. The flat tire is really all I needed to see to call him an amateur. I would like to see a picture of the entire load. It’s likely a combination of one or all (not loading correctly, inexperience and too big of a load). @Hammer166 what is your opinion?

Just an extreme example of the same crap we see everyday, there's such a push to be fast that most take every shortcut possible while lacking the knowledge to understand how out of whack their deck and axle losdings are. That and they try and load loads that we can haul out west no problem but will get you a bridge strike back East if you loaded them the same way.

@kylefitzy, I'd put it to you this way, you won't see a carhauler load that long off the back, but you'll see a lot of guys who haul cars do it.

A few weeks ago a driver loading a couple spots over walks over to my rig. He says do you know how to check the height? I said of course I do. He points towards his rig and said how tall am I? I laughed and said I can’t tell you how tall you are by looking, but you are definitely tall. I said don’t you have a height stick? He said I do but I don’t know how to use it. I shook my head and continued what I was doing. Eventually he gets his height stick out and I walk over and measure what I felt was his tallest unit. 14’6 was the height which doesn’t work very well at many spots in Indiana. So I give him a couple tips to get his load below 14’. None of us started hauling cars with any experience, but most of us were properly trained before we were allowed to haul cars. There is a huge difference in doing a skilled trade with proper training and no training. This is freight that Jack Cooper hauled before they went out of business and I can guarantee you that every Jack Cooper driver that hauled this freight was properly trained first. Jack Cooper trained me 13 years ago to haul cars and didn’t turn me loose until,I knew what I was doing.

I loaded next to him a couple weeks ago and didn’t even know he was a YouTube Star. Maybe if I hadn’t loaded quicker than him I could have got on YouTube! Darn my luck, he did seem like a nice guy from my brief conversation with him.
