Tornado Threat Northern half of Alabama Particularly Dangerous Situation in Effect

Who's ever seen a tornado at night?

 

This storm activity is just on the edge of the very unstable shear area they are worried about. These that are probably just funnel clouds presently, should get spinning up good in the next half hour or so as they progress into the more favorable shear/updraft environment.

Decatur and Huntsville AL better be on guard the next 60-90 minutes

Tornado warning is up for Colbert County Alabama. Florence and Muscle Shoals are in the warned area.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN COLBERT...NORTHEASTERN FRANKLIN AND SOUTHWESTERN
LAWRENCE COUNTIES...

At 535 PM CDT, a potential large and extremely dangerous tornado was
located over Russellville, moving east at 30 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!



These same storm relative motions have slowed from 55 mph about an hour ago, to now about 30 mph. And a few tops have just recently surpassed 50,000 ft. This is when things get very dangerous

 

Getting bigger and better developed and maybe recycling. Oh dear. Moulton is in severe danger

 

Baseball size hail also reported with this particular storm. Only saving grace may be the nearby storm trailing it is stealing or interrupting much available energy from the lead storm

 

But it looks like with each update, there seems to be a little bit of additional separation building between the 3 cells which is not good news for Decatur
