'The driver of a pickup truck died after he ran into the back of a parked logging truck on Golden Road on Monday that he apparently couldn’t see due to dust that created whiteout conditions, authorities said.'

If you're on a dirt road (a known logging road) in a town that doesn't even have a name... for the love of God, some discretion.

Man killed after rear-ending logging truck in ‘whiteout’ conditions

Was it one of the Trucks from the American Logger Show?

    Were they the Pellitiers?

Dam shame. Been on a road similar to that one. See some one coming its best to pull over than to try and drive blind based on what you saw last.

Been on that road many times in both personal vehicle and my families logging trucks. Sad what happened no doubt, but there are plenty of signs up there that state in plain English that logging trucks have the right of way!!!

    People drive too fast,
Maybe it's because they lowered the blood alcohol levels too low, if people could drink and still drive legally maybe they would enjoy the drive and cruise along instead of rushing to get home before the beer gets hot.

    Saw that myself in Alaska.
Would be going; and see a cloud coming in the distance.
    Pull to shoulder and WOOSH......
Logging truch 50 plus feet long with 3 logs/6 ft. dia.- going 70.
Had to wait 10 min. for dust to settle.
    And that was on gravel.

NavigatorWife, KillingTime and Lepton1 Thank this.

I run fairly frequently on dirt roads. I don't get the idea of some drivers that they want to eat dust for the next ten or twenty miles. If I am following someone I either slow way down or stop until the dust settles. Why in the world would you deliberately drive at speed without being able to see???
