If you can provide me the load number I may be able to shed some light on this for you.

Ummm.. it says that's the deal right on their rate confirmations. Yeah it's slimy and sucks you got nailed on that grand of scale. But this isn't new with TQL. You aren't the first to learn about the no-pay-before-dispatch deal the hard way.

You know it's happening the second you ask for dispatch and the broker or their assistant start waffling. For me that starts a 15 minute clock. I will notify the phone jockey as well as the broker via their email (from the rate con) that the truck will be available until XX:XX time and that failure to dispatch will likely result in no truck when they get around to it after that time. Usually that results in them immediately fessing up they don't have the load, or once in a while a dispatch.

MN: Binding insofar as what's printed on the confirmation. Basically only on the rate on that day. The clause about dispatch pretty much takes TQL completely off the hook for anything until they dispatch. That's how they roll. A TQL load is no good until it's on the truck as far as I'm concerned. We don't DH toward one unless that's where we would be going anyway. If a TQL broker has a sketchy load and they are serious about relocating your truck to the shipper, they never have a problem supplying a dispatch. My guess in the case of the OP, even if he had been dispatched, he'd have been lucky to get $150 TONU, with doesn't even put a dent in 400 mi DH.

Here's exactly what appears on all TQL rate confirmations:

so once they give you the pick up number, shipper name and address, its not a dispatch thats what i always thought constituted a dispatch never go anywhere with anyone unless they give you all of the info, for i also have had that, "head on over there" crap only to be told "we never dispatched you"

What I meant is if the driver didn't receive a load number it was never his to begin with and wasn't confirmed properly.
