Trailer brakes frozen stuck

    I'm not exactly sure of the exact mechanics of it but it has something to do with the way drum brakes are designed... Trying to move forward with brakes engaged actually helps apply MORE braking force... While backing up does the opposite... Basically drums are more effective while the vehicle is moving forward. I always try to leave 3 or 4 feet to back up when I think my brakes might freeze. I have still had to get out and smack them with a hammer when they freeze really bad.

    Pouring alcohol with a gizmo in the trailer just a waste of time when problem is the truck.

    That won't do anything when the brake linings are frozen to the brake drums lol
