Trailer Question

You helped out the next guy who was going to hook on that trailer. You did the right thing, good on you.

 

I know nothing about schneider inner workings but you probably made someones day better.

Yes, you did right. I will do the same, but will just use the SEM app on the tablet if it’s not something I’m going to be sticking around for. Despite their claim that using the app gives faster service, I’ve found calling gives much faster results, particularly for tire service.

 

if that trailer isnt being used as storage for that store, then its empty status is in the available trailer pool. At some point a driver will get dispatched to to retrieve that trailer. It is NEVER a bad idea to see to trailer maintenance out on the road whether you are hooked or not. I found a trailer with the left door sheared in half at a consignee up in Minneapolis/St Paul. DBL and SEM dispatched me to get it a local vendor for repair. Then I was on my merry way to my next assignment.

Why would I do that? Because I was there, had the time to do it and I wouldnt want to get dispatched on an mt pu run to find that and only that available. I might not have ever known if another driver ever did that on an mt I was sent for , but karma is a real thing.

 

Was a great thing to do. If you called me about my trailer being flat a customer, I would be thankful.

 

I did this sort of thing just recently. That trailer would have sat there indefinitely if I hadn't taken action.

Used to help out by doing like things when I was with Welfare Express.

There's a paper products shipper in Las Vegas that used to have a dirt drop lot (it's paved now) for empty and loaded trailers.

A small section of this lot was for broken trailers. There was a note on a trailer that stated that the floor had a hole in it from a forklift wheel.

I called On Road Service for instruction and was advised there so happened to be a shop nearby that fixed broken wood floors. It was early enough in the day that the guys started and finished right away.

That trailer would have sat there who knows how long if I had not acted.
