I believe the 9 represents the design level. The letter at the end is the ratio set. I know there's A and B for sure. Might be a C ratio set.

Update on transmission:
Everything fell apart coming through Music City and getting a Weller replacement here. Couldn't even let off the clutch in neutral without bogging down the engine. Spending an extra $500 to go from 13 to 18 just because all the truckstops i go to in MD, PA and WV seem to be at the bottom of hills and for 5 bills I can be nicer to the engine. I think I'm also going to say adios to the heat exchanger in favor of an air cooler for a few dollars more. Lucky(?) me, the trans already had the halo on it so I'm not paying for a new bellhousing.
I'm also going to have them tap the ECM to see just my my HP is set at and if it shows anything that might be a problem later. Was told I might have a Signature 600 under the hood but I'm skeptical, having an 1850 lb/ft trans behind a 2050 lb/ft engine doesn't sound like a good idea.Roberts450 Thanks this. -
