    so i am now heading to Iowa tomorrow from Edmonton Ab.
    Will I be able to travel to minot Nd and mark my time at the boarder as off duty time? or should I stop in estavan sk for my off duty time ?

    Depending on what you’re governed at for speed you may not even have the hours to cross.

    If your truck is governed at 105/km you’ll be pretty much spent for hours when you get to the border. It’s 600 miles from Edmonton.

    That is what i was thinking, stopping overnight in estavan.
    So i would have to have 10 hours off prior to proceeding to the border?

    Yeah Estevan is your best bet. Correct you need 10 hours off before crossing.

    Do you have any advice for crossing? Is all I need is passport drivers license and BOL? All I'm hauling is a cube of aluminum weighing 32500 lbs.

    Answer to the officers truthfully of course. There’s certain foods you can’t cross with so go to:
    Bringing Food into the U.S. if you plan on bringing anything to make sure it doesn’t get tossed.

    Passport if you don’t have a FAST card. ACE manifest should be part of your paperwork.
