They were really good to deal with. Really liked their stitched border banners and reinforced square flags.
Anybody know what happened?

What i can find online says the owner had health problems, and several of the reviews mentioned it in various diffrent places. Saw one twatter post that said they were purchased by a private equity firm recently and the doors are closed as they restructure and rebrand. but when i opened it it was deleted. Sooo....unless someone else can find better evidence looks like the owners health took a hit and he sold the company.singlescrewshaker, Feedman and blairandgretchen Thank this.

That's a bummer. Not a huge surprise though. Last time I was there the show room was empty. Used to be jammed with gear. Tried to order a couple new 30x30 tarps when I was there. They never called to let me know they were done.
Google maps shows Route 66 Tarps in that building now. The URL listed for them isn't even registered though so I wonder what the deal is?
Guess I'm glad I grabbed a spare stitched banner last time.singlescrewshaker, Feedman, Ok big boy and 4 others Thank this. -
Im sad you didn’t grab a couple for me

Last time I was in there Steve was so frustrated he was almost in tears. He said the “new owners” were driving him crazy and they couldn’t even make new custom tarps only what was in stock. That was like 4 years ago though. Steve was the reason that place was so great… hope he found a new place that appreciates him…

Over the years I bet I bought 75% of my gear there, and the other 25% was bought somewhere else because I was in a bind. I tried my best to keep my foot out of that pile, but I ended up there anyway. I hate hearing that.

I had a similar conversation with him a few years back too, I always thought he was co-owner, but he was basically an employee. I think his brother was the actual owner?
Like you said - one of those guys that just ‘makes’ a business, unappreciated and under compensated.singlescrewshaker, Feedman, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 3 others Thank this. -
That’s terrible news. Always my first choice for stuff. Made custom straps for me several times. Always were quick to make a tarp repair. Picked up a lot of stuff over the years.

I'm sitting in their parking lot, building has nothing inside. There are a ton of old tarps outside and a for lease sign on the outside of the building. Really sad they went out of business. Steve and his Dad were so nice. Took a few pics while I was there. There's a maroon van here but doesn't seem to be anyone around except a few trucks parked next to Waffle House up front.
