@Firefairy
You can do much better than tdi for less money.
Tn has the American job Bank, where you can get a grant to attend community College for your cdl
Depending on your location, I'm guessing you're kinda close to Nashville, many community colleges hold cdl classes every other month.
Here's the kicker..
There's a huge difference between schools...
160 hour courses and 220 hour courses are held very differently in getting your first driving job.
Many job postings say they'll accept a school grad.... but only from a 220 hour course.
Funny thing is, the short schools often cost more than the long ones.
Community colleges are far cheaper because they're state run.
I got my cdl through chatt state cc, total cost 2000.
All of which was covered by a grant from the state, thankfully.
Side benefit of not being beholden to a training company is you can jump ship if the company sucks.
Through school, the instructors often said 225 to 250 a day was a fair benchmark for pay, starting out.
Recruiters target the longer schools for new drivers more so than shorter ones.
Better training being the core reason.
I was able to get on with eagle transport in Chattanooga straight out of school.
Home every night, fair pay, good equipment, and a solid team in the office to keep me rolling.
I like hauling fuel a lot
Pretty easy money, all things considered.
And, getting tanker and hazmat experience is worth it's weight in gold, literally.
Having tank and hazmat pays more in most instances.
Why? Many drivers want nothing to do with the headaches and hassle that those bring.
Running long haul with x endorsement, 6 figures is easy to do.
Running team with the missus can more than double that money.
I was in your shoes a year ago.
I did my homework, and it sounds like you're well into yours.
I'll help you best I can.
@Chinatown is about the best there is when it comes to company info for a geographical area.
I strongly advocate against the companies that offer cdl training then working the school off under contract.
Not that they're bad, but because there's better options available without the ugly strings attached.
RE West is a good company, and I almost went with them.
But, the pay after school was same as western express...a last chance type company... at 38 cents a mile.
You can do much better for yourself, I promise.
I'm at 1500 a week guaranteed.
78k a year.
No strings attached.
Show up. Do my job, go home and love on my family. Every day.

I think TDI is 120 hour school. Several companies will hire from there.
160 hour school is better
200 + hour schools are even better.TNSquire Thanks this. -
I went to TDI when it was in Murfreesboro and at that time the school was 10 days; Monday thru Friday for two weeks.
Maybe 10 or 15 students in the class and everyone one had a job the day we graduated.Chahekfixhsbs and TNSquire Thank this. -
