Hello everyone,
We’re a new trucking company and we’ve been trying to book loads. However, we’re running into an issue where brokers are rejecting us because we don’t have any inspections on record. We’ve noticed that scales nationwide seem to have stopped offering voluntary truck inspections, which is making it difficult for us to get these inspections done.
Does anyone know if this is happening everywhere or if there are still places where we can get our trucks inspected? Any advice on alternative locations or solutions would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance and Stay safe!!

Disconnect one headlight and drive through the scale at night. When they tell you to "Go to door 3 for inspection", before you pull around, plug the headlight back in...

I hope you ain't joking cuz we about to pull the plug on this idea

Feedman, W923 and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
usually pull in any scale. cross pad, park in back walk in and ask.. they have to do so many per month. explain the situation, they’ve heard it before.
-
We have been trying it and explained them the situation from past couple of months and still no luck.

First, you have to answer this - where are you operating?
Second, you went to every scale in the country and asked?
Third, have you contacted your state trucking association to ask them what can be done?
Fourth, do what I've done, I got to know some of the enforcement officers and talked to them regularly. If I have an issue or a question, I can ask them. I also stressed with my drivers; they have a job to do, and I don't think it is personal or they will make it personal. -
Operating in California
We run CA to CT and have tried CA,AZ,NM,TX,OK,IN and rest of the scales
I called more than 10 different scales in different states, they said and they said this is a new regulation by FMSCA.
Drivers won't spend time talking to enforcement officers. -
So, your running of the load boards ? How’s that working out for you ? Top dollar per mile?
-
We have a dedicated lane from CA to CT and NJ to CA.
