Good afternoon folks. Every once in awhile, my truck starts to growl or rumble from deep within her bowels, shake a little, then "belches" white/light gray smoke out of her stacks. She's been doing this since I got her. Sometimes she'll go weeks without doing it, other times (like yesterday) she'll do it several times a day.
I have yet to add a drop of oil in her (besides regular changes at 13,000 miles). I get a sample done by the people in Ft. Wayne every change, and they come back stellar. Report says I can go to 16,000 between changes if I want. I also had her overheads done a month ago.
Can this have anything to do with the fact that she's "neutered"? It's a DD S-60, 14L, DDEC VI.
Looking forward to your insights.
Truck is "belching" white smoke.

The DDEC VI was plagued with injector issues ever since its inception. Basically the same injector as a Volvo D13, and we all know that story. I am obviously only guessing at this and taking into account that your "tune" and equipment mods are correct.

That would probably explain the weak power on any little hill? I thought doing the overheads might have solved this but no.

Injector cups are easy to change when injectors are removed. Cups are stainless steel, so weak point is cup o rings. They just "unscrew" from head. You will need proper cup removal tool (amazon under $100) If ordering, make sure you get correct one. DDEC V used similar tool. Just different enough to not work on DDEC VI.
