I just think people inflate their numbers alot to make it sound good..... Especially when a bit of simple math shows that its bs ....and ive seen that market for myself from all sides... load boards, brokers, and direct...but i dont claim to know anything, just seems a bit high...... But like i said good for him.

When somebody asks me if we're making any money I always tell them..."Nah, man we're just barely hanging on".Lostkeys, Ruthless, Midwest Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
None of us work 52 weeks out of the year. Well, at least most us don't.
My buddies are averaging $3.00 a mile gross revenue with their heavy haul curtain vans. That's not so hard to believe, especially in this market and to the point that @REO6205 so succinctly made.Dale thompson Thanks this. -
If the man does not come home for the weekends, those numbers are very legit.
Even for a dry van that is nothing crazy. A typical Midwest region dry box grosses $5k Mon-Fr (I am not talking about the last 6 months of crazy freight), so working from restart to restart, $6.5k is very doable and curtain vans usually make moreDale thompson and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
@REO6205 You reminded me of something.
I was at a golf outing a few months back. It was my insurance agent in my cart, and the other part of the 4 some was another agent and his customer.
Long story short the other agent starts asking me about who my big customer is in a particular a field. I just looked at him and said that’s classified. LOL
It pissed him off I could tell but why would I say something like that with a competitor within ear shot? We can all be friends and drink some beer and have fun but business is business.larry2903, Dale thompson, Oscar the KW and 4 others Thank this. -

And once again, it's all relative. My previous boss is easily clearing 1 million a year (income) on about 3% of his company revenue. He rubs shoulders with his other big-wig peers, goes on all expenses paid company vacations, lives in a multi-million dollar home in an exclusive neighborhood, etc.
The other day I was thinking to myself about the "decent" months I've been having lately. Then, I remembered how I ran the numbers on how much Alex Rodriquez (professional baseball player) was making per at bat when he signed that 252 million dollar 10 year contract with the Texas Rangers back in the day. Mind you, this was 15 years ago.
That memory set my thinking straight real quick! LOLDale thompson Thanks this. -
