    I’m about to change oil at the Truckstop. I don’t feel like doing it. My motivation is the thought that the money saved pays for my wife’s hair appointment yesterday. Lol. That’s how bad things are. Main thing is she got her hair done. Lol. Doesn’t take much to keep her happy thankfully. She tells me that a tornado hit Mississippi last night, on the ground for 90 miles. 24 people found dead so far. I might have been right it it myself, had I not had to cancel my next 2 loads, all because I was 15 minutes late. Talk about frustrating. Enough to make you want to give up. Especially since it’s my own fault. Never know why things happen. I’ve been running hard for 3 weeks. I needed a couple days off anyway.

    How about any rate that begins with a $1... something per mile.

    Then I’d be at $2.12 all miles instead of $2.42 in my example above. Granted it was listed as a partial, but still. That’s why I tend to not focus on the rate of one particular load if it helps out the round when it’s tied to a couple others.

    According to the video she said they found out on a Tuesday and once they found out they were in danger of not being able to make payroll. One thing that says to me is way too many eggs in one basket and another is maybe they weren’t all that financially sound to start with if losing freight from one customer put them in that position.

    Yup, payroll comes first. Always. In an outfit that size not being able to meet payroll means a lousy cash flow. Or maybe none at all.

    The thing I found odd is the article quoted someone from the company saying that when the one customer cut their loads they were in danger of not making payroll as well as not being able to pay rent or equipment payments. That seems real fast to me if it all happened the day they found out.

    They were already struggling, and hoping for the best, I can’t fault them. Happens to the best sometimes. They’ll probably be back. Often how it goes. At least they’re honest and didn’t follow the usual slimy playbook and scam the Drivers.
