2013 is the year after DEF started. I wouldn’t fool with this year of truck. But that’s my perspective. I just met a guy last time I was out, he had a Paccar in a 2013 ish KW. The truck looked amazing, but he hated it. He said he spent more time in the shop then hauling freight. He was down on the ground trying to check the wires going to his def pump for a fault he had when I walked up to see if he needed a hand.

Now, at that price I would be more inclined. Do you know what your looking at if you were to go really inspect? If yes, then I would just go up there and get a really good feel for it. See if the last guy did things right. Why is he selling it? And if you decided to “fix” the emissions you might actually have a long lasting truck there. Because the cab and exterior look great:

that motor, the high engine load percent, that year model of emissions, the high costs for parts on a motor that new and for peterbilt (though they have TRP parts for better deals)... this is what would concern me the most as a business owner. has the emissions system already took its toll on the motor? Will it make 800,000 to 1M miles on soot infested oil? Do you really want to be the one tearing through all those layers of stuff so you can do a simple engine part replacement? And if your not willing to, the cost for service will be sure to charge you more time because it takes way longer to do simple repairs.

BUT, the price is pretty impressive for a truck in such nice exterior shape. Pick your poison I guess! Usually the opinions I hear on the paccar motors are 50/50. Some guys don’t have nothing bad to say, some guys don’t like em at all, most agree that with it being a Paccar motor that it’s usually more difficult to get service done on it. The motor has been out almost 10 years now, so maybe that’s changed a bit.
