What if you'll be making tons of money at Schneider? Those drop and hooks are appealing

Doubt I’d be making as much as with a company like Landstar or F2F simply because at SNI I’m not only competing with other O/O for the freight but also dispatchers for the company drivers and I’ve been warned by a couple of O/O that their loads were cancelled then given to a company driver because SNI would make more on the load. Plus a good amount of their D & H turn out to be Live loads and Unloads. Also there’s too many stories of where O/O were making decent to good money and right before their lease was about to be up all of a sudden their loads were falling through or they couldn’t find a load paying more than 1.40 a mile etc I rather not take that chance. At F2F I’ll be booking my own freight and live loads and unloads don’t really bother me as long as I’m securing no less than $700 a day I’m happy. My plan though would be my first load of the week would need to cover my truck payment that way the rest of my loads for the week are just profit for me :biggrin_25525:

Nope your second load covers fuel, your third load covers repairs, your fourth load covers insurance and taxes, and if you're lucky you have enough hours left to take a fifth load.

    :p

Wait. So companies like Schneider that have company trucks, and thousands of non driving employees ( like even more of them than drivers ) whose salaries are based heavily on bonuses, would pilfer the best loads???

    Say it isn't so.

Why F2F? They suck! Robbing 20% of drivers dispatching themselves.
Many similar carriers out there offering 88%-90% for the same thing.
Keep more of the money you earn.

Haven’t heard of any other companies and out of the ones I was recommended F2F was the best true O/O company and the 20% was the lowest percentage I heard plus I can rent my own trailer with them if I want to. I am open to suggestions though if there’s other companies that will let me choose my own freight off of the load boards of my choosing and take less than 20% I’m open ears the lowest percentage I’ve been quoted was 10% for a Regional TX company but they’d dispatch me and I’d only run what they gave me of course I could say no or tell them what state I’d want to run too but I just don’t want to be dispatch let alone stuck hauling loads for 1 company

I talked to a Schneider dispatcher on the phone a few days ago. He told me that they average $1.70/mi...

I said: That's what you pay company drivers?

Dispatcher: That's what we average for O/O...

    Me: Hangs up phone.

There's many many companies that offer better.
Do a search online for "owner operator 90%" and you'll find many results.

Do not give up 20% , you'll be tossing away $700-$1000 a week easy in profit from that extra 10%

They are out there, I am with one of them.
There was many companies when i searched offering around 90% and can pick your own loads

Yup sounds about right they also aren’t percentage based anymore and when I asked the recruiter about it and how the pay is calculated he couldn’t give me a straight answer, you also can’t see the rate cons unless you go in person to Green Bay I believe. If it wasn’t for this stupid truck shortage I wouldn’t be leasing on to them at all.
