THERE ARE SOME IN NY like that. rarely do they enforce it. they would have to hire a seperATE PERSON TO KEEP TABS ON ALL THE TRUCKS LOL
-
i have noticed a lot of rest areas posting the sign of no over night parking. i watched another driver get dot'd because he stayed there all night.

It's been illegal to sleep in the truck in Sturbridge, Mass for at least 20 years. Slept real good there a time or two worrying about it! LOL
Back in the day, always tried to get out on NY17to a rest area after reloading somewhere NE. Got woke more than once after a short nap by DOT.
"get outta here driver, we need some room to set up. "
Never had to be asked twice! LOL. Sure did appreciate to wake up, too. -
Your right, I ran out of hours and stopped at a pilot in NY. They had signs posted 4 hour parking. I was like, Who is the moron that came up with this rule? I still stayed there. Just because I was out of hours.
The city or county commissioners that come up with these rules, need to get on a truck for a couple of weeks. They also have no general knowledge of Federal Regulations.

They will pay in the long run for only 4 hour parking..... That means 6 swifties could be backing into that hole in 24 hours....

No. The state of Virginia has that rule on all of its rest areas and does indeed enforce it.
