How easy is it to get a job delivering construction equipment to building sites? Can you have a pickup truck and get contracted with a company to deliver small equipment? Or do most companies have there own trucks? Do they require a cdl to drive for them even if contracted to work for them?

You need experience. No, and yes.

MOst construction companies I know pull their own equipment. Lots of rental companies out there but they usually have their own drivers.

The equipment going to job sites is most likely owned by the contractors doing the work or it’s delivered by a rental company. If it’s a big site then HH will be showing up splitting rigs and unloading. A hotshot won’t be able to handle that kinda work.

Due to old roads and no repair funds. More and more of these counties and communities in rural Texas are making ordinances against any semi truck or straight truck that has either tandems or fifth wheel and over 33,000 lbs Gvw. So guess what. Dually pickups and goosneck trailers are exempt. Most of the law makers have them to move their horses or other hobbies around. I have seen D6’s, big graders, sky trac fork trucks, 4-6 bobcats and other crazy stuff and anything you can put on a big truck that isn’t oversize. Weight be ######. Being pulled around by f350’s and 3500’s tearing up the roads worse. Cops don’t bother them because in their words “this is what they asked for by outlawing the big trucks.”
