Well, I did a bunch of searching and can't seem to come up with my issue. All I can find is guys who can't get their trucks to start. Mine won't shut off.
1999 379 Pete, 1lw 3406e,
What do I look for?
tried a different ignition switch, tried the solenoid on the firewall, now what?
Truck won't shut off.

You should have a fuel shut off solenoid. Diesels don’t need electric to run.
Edit: it will use power to shut OFF, Im sure there is a way to manually override itD.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Turn the key to off position
Concorde, tucker, otterinthewater and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’m guessing fuel pump not shutting off, if I’m not mistaken isn’t that how diesels shut down? But cutting off the fuel?
If that’s the case then a simple switch or solenoid replacement for the pump is what’s needed or something’s wrong with wiring.double brew and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

Yeah i would agree. I know when my truck turns off after auto shutoff . if i try to start it without turning key off then back on it wont start. It will crank but not turn over, i owuld expect it cuts off the fuel pump. I would agree thats probably what it is

Everything I'm seeing for a fuel shutoff switch, is for a B model.
Looking at wiring stuff, I found one of these that may be it? Any suggestions otherwiseAttached Files:

I swear, this just gets better and better. If I'm feeling down and need a chuckle, just tune in to TTR for the latest. Can you imagine the horror, my truck won't shut off, what do I do?
And what the heck is this^^^. Should make it perfectly clear what's wrong,,,yeah right. Things were so much easier with the BC, just turn the screw on the pump or dump the clutch, that will shut 'er off.Dino soar, xsetra, HoneyBadger67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Your lucky its not a regular car forums.
I personally recommended someone deflate their tires because the lights wont shut off. -
Try the dash shut off switch I’m unsure as to the outcome. It’s kind of hard to help over the internet.
You really could choke it down (high gear brakes set dump the clutch) if it was an emergency but that’s hard on stuff.stayinback Thanks this.
