    That bridge gets scary in high winds, especially with an empty trailer.

    Even worse is the other bay bridge on 50/301 especially with an open top trailer.

    I used to live down in that area. It used to be a two
    lane bridge tunnel till they built the new bridge next to the original. The tunnels are still two way
    traffic. There have been lots of trucks run off the
    side over the years. Quite often they never even recover the bodies because of the currents.

    Im not sure what you mean by dumb it down. I have driven across that bridge dozens of times
    in a tractor trailer in all types of weather. I am sure
    hundreds of trucks cross it every day with no problem at all. Who knows why the driver ran off the side? Was he sight seeing? Was it equipment
    failure. Most likely they will never no why it happened. In a few months the only people who
    will remember the unfortunate man is his family
    and friends. Keep your eyes on the road and your
    hands upon the wheel. Driving aint no game.
