Anybody find it suspicious this is about the exact amount Werner is likely out following the jury award?

That's probably based on 1000 pounds of meth the article says it might produce.
The article failed to state the violation. Usually drug runners try to not violate anything. lolz.
91 million. HA that's more money than the total assets of many banks...NavigatorWife Thanks this. -

I would guess that some kind of "insider" information was received by the LEO's in this situation. Local information is that this bust was made by a rural sheriff's department, and as stated, there is no information as to why law enforcement got involved in the first place. This county (Harnett) sits on the I-95 corridor and contains quite a few name brand truck stops.
NavigatorWife, x1Heavy and mjd4277 Thank this. -
I’d put money on the sheriffs department being tipped off.

Usually drug runners use a little decoy load like this to get busted so they can move the big billion dollar drugs on the next truck. I heard......

Long ago I used to joke that when I have had enough of trucking I'll cart a billion in drugs somewhere east for a cut.
I never in those early days imagined that I would be running lawful medicines and narcotics east with only a million or so in that trailer. Ugh.
Im happy I am out of this whole thing in some ways. I agree with the others, must have been a hell of a tip from someone. I mean who the hell looks inside a fuel tank anymore, this is not the bad old days of dye fuel.
If I had a bucket list of anything I would go into NYC Fed and pick up some gold Bullion going to export probably one of the big airports somewhere able to fly it out. It would not take up too much room in that trailer. 20 foot box would be plenty.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Maybe they were dipping tanks looking for dyed fuel?
