It was actually the police that organized it by stopping traffic and having trucks move into position.
Truckers had little to do with preventing anything except being in the right place at that time.

Shouldn't the headline be something like...

Police enlist the aid of truckers to prevent suicide attempt

?

 

Sounds like they catered to the needs of a fricken psycho.

Contrary to how this is portrayed...This is not a heart-warming story at all.

The guy probably ended up with a fine, put on psychiatric hold, and a whole list of other problems.

 

Nice but I suspect there is enough of a fall height to be a problem anyway.

Plus the suspect will be Baker Acted and that in itself will be devastating to his established rights prior to the event.

 

If I was a owner op not sure I would consent to participate. What if he fell on my truck and then I got sued by some ambulance chaser?

 

Surprisingly, this has happened a couple of times recently.

The person wanting to commit suicide didn't think to jump between the trailers?
