Any trucking company that makes you pay for parking their trucks during your hometime are a big red flag. That is because they can get tax writeoffs for paying for company truck drivers expenses including paying for parking but instead they try to pass that onto you.
A couple of companies I know that use this practice are
Central Oregon Trucking Co
Double J Transport
Jacko Logistics
Freymiller

There's too much free parking out there for me to worry about paid parking. I usually use what I would've spent on truck parking to trick on lot lizards.

Lol right. Paid parking in my opinion can at times be irresponsible use of funds.mjd4277 and BrothaTrucka513 Thank this.

My company is paying $200/month for secure parking for my truck in Texarkana on the weekends, ever since I moved from Dallas to Little Rock. I don’t mind the drive from our new place, and the lot is a mile from the Cooper tire plant so I always start the week with a load from there.
mjd4277 and Knight_Rider Thank this. -
that's why I always chose a company no more than an hours drive away.
park it at terminalmjd4277, Lonesome, Knight_Rider and 2 others Thank this. -
Right. I’ve never understood people who go across the country just to have a driving job. The company job I had for 10 years before I was 45 minutes from the yard. It wasn’t a big deal to drive back and forth every weekend. Now that I’m a company driver again I’m about 5 minutes from where I park every night. No hassles. No worries about if your truck is getting ran into while you’re home sleeping.

That’s one of the reasons to work for a company in driving’s distance from home. All the companies you name here are all the same thing with only the truck color being different can find the same job close to home that has a terminal there

Considering a move to Gallatin TN, outside of Nashville. Current employer of 13 years who is Florida based said they would continue to utilize me there but parking is a definite stressor, doesn’t look to be much in the area. Even where I live currently in central Florida the options are limited, I’m about an hour or so south of our main terminal, we have trucks scattered across the state, thankfully we have a customer 9 miles from the house where I’m able to park now, prior to that I was paying $100 right across from current spot and wasn’t reimbursed.

Yea a company would have to be paying me no less than 2 grand a week for me to take up paying for their parking. But all these companies I mentioned along with many others all just give far less than that in miles so least they can do is pay parking. Hell man I drove for European companies out of Chicago paying 1099 and even they paid for parking.
Same here in Southern California it’s ridiculously hard to park on the streets as most cities now have laws against it and daily parking is 30-40 a night.snuffdipper Thanks this. -
The company I work for rents parking spots at either other trucking companies’ yards, or they had their own dedicated drop yards, or the trucks are parked at the terminals. In fact, there’s a storage yard that we use in Lebanon, about 15-20 minutes away from Gallatin.
Knight_Rider and Trashtrucker1707 Thank this.
