I’m about to pick up a 94 international 9400 this week. It has a 3406e 465 hp with a 10 speed Eaton and 373 spicer rears… truck has 700k miles on it and the bottom was done awhile back not sure exactly what. But the price is right for my budget which isn’t much at the moment.
my question is this a good set up I have been trying to find some info on them and can’t really find too much. I had a freightliner century before with a Detroit, so this will be my first truck with a cat and these gears on it. Any input would be appreciated. I love this forum and just signed up today. I have been doing some research on the engine. i plan to haul logs locally here in South Carolina hopefully

Keep to 65mph and she'll treat you right, assuming lp 22.5 , will feel a bit gutless with any weight on any hills with bigger tires.
13 speed if you do hills
Do NOT go over 65 if you like good mpgbeastr123 Thanks this. -

In 94' year model, is that a super 10? The cat will get by just fine if it is, but keep the air clean as you will be using the splitter a lot.
3.73s are plenty high numerically, so hopefully it has 275/ or 11Rs on it. But for locals and back roads etc., -
Will be a turd at that hp even with the 373 gears.
