What extra did they do so there's no stressbreaks from hole to hole?
    Thicker ?
    Higher quality steel?

    combination of this:
-Mb has largest number of developing engineers (twice more than MAN for example)
-lot of testing (volvo is good too, rest dont have so much testing).
    -tight tolerances
-lot of FEM analysis (that show you critical points) + L profile inserts
-steel is nothing much better than others good brands
-thicker profile in many cases against iveco, but less steel than scania or volvo for example.

also they dont rust at this holes.

scania has hardest profile of chassis of all brands, you really dont want to drill it. good part is you can order custom hole layout.

98989... you are probably the best numbers guy I’ve run into on trucks....

End an difference of opinion on another thread.

If you have 2 identical trunks with the only difference being rear tire diameter between the 2 . What would the overall gearing and drivability differences be between the 2 trucks..?

One truckhas 11R24.5 the other one 11R22.5....

that is about 5% in diameter difference, equals about 1 step in diff ratio.

info you wrote is hard to discuss without other infos.

my friend run 2.733 axle ratio (you will remember caesar talked a lot about 2.21 axle ratio) which is considered as quite high here, but he does max weight and lot of grades to wien.
he has identical truck with 3.154 axle ratio, fuel consumption identical, climb faster.

sent this two trucks on flat road, they will be both disaster.

This a 1710 series on my 82 W-9. Most newer run 1810 on main shaft, 1710 on inter-axle shaft. KIMG2525.JPG
