German puntlicheit.
Germany is weird in regard rules and following them.
You can do more legally in Germany compared to other countries BUT they enforce those rules to the letter whereas the other countries ,in theory, allow less legally but enfoce less compared to Germany.
It is part off German culture.

Ordnung muss sein.

It all depends on Police guy you met .. One Daf i have has got longer sunvisor. Pedestrian mirror didn't fit. Truck was stopped and Police guy wrote 100 euro fine, my driver was like, ok, but I have fresh meat loaded, I can't wait for service.

Police guy looked if nobody else is watching and told my driver : today we are driving on this highway between exit this and that. I don't want to see you anymore today.

Some b-roads to avoid highway and he was driving further again into sunset ...

 

Driver to dismantle 2 lights because the total lumen is to high with all off them.

 

And if you think scales are only for trucks..................

A lot off bad english is spoken.
