Trucking Super Cycle Confirmed, According to the Pros.

It all started with one driver who said sure boss no problem I'll get it done lickity split, and don't worry about the pay, I'll do it cuz you're such a swell guy. And now it's one of the least respected most underplayed and most hated jobs in the country. I mean they won't even build parking spots. There's unlimited land available in the Midwest but still no where to park? And it's 2026? That one driver who drove for free 50 years ago really screwed the rest of us. One driver did it one time, in perfect conditions, with no traffic, and now they expect it faster and cheaper every single time.

 

I'm making good money right now. On pace to hit about 150 this year. But of course it's never enough and the grass is always greener. I called SFI back cuz they got a super special deal right now. They lowered their monthly payment on their trucks from 7000 to 6000, but only if you run exclusively their load board. And it's for 3 years and then the balloon is still 75k on a truck with 600-700k miles. So I said no thanks.

 

The rates are making it very tempting to come to the dark side. I'm just nervous that for the first time in history, freight waves will have made a prediction that was incorrect. And we will watch rates dwindle back down to 2 bucks and everyone will be driving for free again.

 

The most shocking thing to me as a brand new driver was the parking problem. I had no idea how bad it really was. It still blows my mind. I think it's because the Democrats are pushing this narrative that if drivers have better treatment, they won't work as much. So they literally won't even let us park. Can't stop driving if you can't park!

 

I hope the rest of the states follow suit. But a fellow driver told me a lot of them are just running to Canada and getting licenses there, and driving straight back across the border. Then running with Canadian plates all over the USA.
